Bio

Rio Grande do Sul native Henry Raul Boening is one of the most experienced members of the Brazilian sailing team that will compete in the first edition of the SSL Gold Cup. Boening began his career in sailing under the guidance of the director of the Barra Limpa sailing school, Xico Freitas. He gained recognition in the Star class, becoming the European champion in 2019 in Riva del Garda, Italy, and winning bronze at the 2016 SSL Finals in Nassau, Bahamas, alongside the legend Robert Scheidt.

As the heavyweight of the team at 120kg, Henry will have a strategic role on the boat as the Grinder. He is affectionately nicknamed "Maguila" and is also part of the CBVela as a coach.
