The SSL Gold Cup Asian Qualifiers have officially received the Platinum Level Clean Regattas Certification from Sailors for the Sea, powered by Oceana.
The event, held from December 20 to 22, 2025 in Ocean Marina, Pattaya Thailand, demonstrated outstanding commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable event management.
The Platinum level represents the highest standard within the Clean Regattas program and is awarded only to events that successfully implement best practices across waste reduction, plastic elimination, sustainable food choices, environmental education, and ocean protection.
By achieving this certification, the Asian Qualifiers set a strong example for sailing events across the region, proving that high-performance competition can go hand in hand with meaningful environmental action.
The certification was awarded by Sailors for the Sea, with recognition from Program Manager Emily Conklin and Founder David Rockefeller, Jr., highlighting the organizers’ leadership in promoting cleaner oceans and more sustainable regattas.
This milestone reinforces the Star Sailors League’s commitment to protecting the marine environment and inspiring positive change within the global sailing community.
