Olympic medallists, world-class sailors and a shared ambition to make history. Meet SSL Team Denmark, ready to take on the Quarter-Finals of the SSL Gold Cup!
From 7–10 December in Rio de Janeiro, Denmark will compete in Group 1 alongside Great Britain, bringing experience, teamwork and plenty of Danish Dynamite to the racecourse.

At the 2023 SSL Gold Cup in Gran Canaria, Denmark finished in 16th place. This year, the team continued its preparations with a training camp in Switzerland in August, working towards the next challenge and building the teamwork needed to compete at the highest level.
Built on the spirit of collaboration, the Danish sailing model is all about sharing knowledge, learning from the best and creating opportunities for the next generation. For a small nation with big ambitions, teamwork is the key to success.
With a strong male and female crew, Denmark also celebrates the values of equality and inclusion that are an important part of its sailing identity.
“Our national pride and the opportunity to represent Denmark with a strong male and female crew is a true testament to our nation’s focus on gender equality. The power of Danish Dynamite will explode when we hit the starting line at the SSL Gold Cup!”

MEET THE CAPTAIN: JONAS HØGH-CHRISTENSEN
A four-time Olympian and silver medallist at the London 2012 Olympic Games in the Finn class, Jonas brings outstanding experience to the team. A two-time Finn World Champion, he has also earned multiple world championship medals.
Beyond the racecourse, Jonas is the founder of the Denmark SailGP team and Vice Commodore of the Royal Danish Yacht Club. Passionate about driving change and building a lasting legacy for future generations, he embodies the ambition and determination behind Danish Dynamite.
