Born and raised in the UAE, Adil Khalid is one of the nation’s most accomplished sailors and a true pioneer of the sport. He began his journey at the Dubai International Marine Club in the early 2000s, later moving to Emirates Sailing School in Abu Dhabi, where his talent quickly stood out.

In 2008, Adil made history as the first and only Emirati sailor to represent the UAE at the Olympic Games in Beijing. Just a few years later, at the age of 22, he sailed around the world in the Volvo Ocean Race (2011–2012), and again in 2014–2015 with Team Abu Dhabi, winning the race on his second attempt. These achievements placed him among the world’s top 10 sailors in the Volvo Ocean Race.

Over the years, Adil has competed in multiple world championships, Arab championships, and national regattas, collecting gold medals, podium finishes, and international recognition. Today, he continues to represent the UAE with pride, experience, and determination — inspiring the next generation of Emirati sailors to chase their dreams on the world stage.
