An old hand of Malaysian keelboat racing, he is now a professional sailing instructor. Aswad competed in the World Match Racing Tour (WMRT) with Malaysia’s Koo Racing Team with their best ranking of 13th in the world in 2016. They came second in the 2016 WMRT USA Grand Slam Series, and has competed in the WMRT M32 series. A key crew member of Malaysia’s sole TP52 Ulumulu and formerly of Hong Kong’s Reichel/Pugh 77 Jelik, his keelboat experience lends crucial guidance to the team. He hails from Kuantan in the state of Pahang.
