Emma started sailing at the age of 7. She spent her summers at the local sailing club. She went through the youth pathway of optimist, europe and then ILCA 6. She spent 13 years perfecting the ILCA 6, resulting in 2 world titles and 2 Olympic Games top 8 finishes. Her strenghts are the tactical vision on the water, and bringing her high stake racing skill set to the competition. As team co-captain her biggest goal is to create a mindset of performance, fun, and teamspirit. Being able to sail under the Belgian flag with sailors coming together from different sailing backgrounds is what she loves most about the SSL.
